Ah, the last post for our trip down South.
While Congaree National Park has several camping areas available, none of them were compatible with having a camper. Therefore, we found a cool looking state park that was East of the National Park. The drive into the campgrounds was TERRIFYING. It was a windy dirt road full of potholes and trees hugging the edge of the road. I’m not sure at all how two campers could have ever fit through. We were lucky enough on both entering and exiting the park at times when we didn’t encounter another vehicle.

The state park was BEAUTIFUL! The campsites had plenty of space between them so we didn’t feel like we were on top of others, the bathrooms were clean and well maintained, and it had an amazing lake!
We enjoyed a relaxing last evening at the state park, grilled dinner, and had an enjoyable last evening of our trip!
We didn’t get the chance to explore the paths and trails that went through the park, but there were plenty around! We highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!
We ended our trip by coming home and giving Freddy a GOOD brushing to help him get all that extra fluff out from winter! He got a fish hook stuck in his tail fur while down by the lake, so we figured it was a necessary task. We combed out a whole other dog! Welcome to our lives 🙂

Our next trip, we are headed down to Burr Oak State Park in Southeastern Ohio!
